Make, Do & Meet 2013

Well what can I say... WHAT A WEEK!

This week has been absolutely manic and truly awesome! As you know from my last blog post, i was featured in this summers gift guide for notonthehighstreet which has been great and i have had some fab response from it.
Well... as you know, i had something else which i had to keep strictly to myself, and being a big mouth i am, this was one of the hardest things i had to keep quiet since i found out in March.

As some of you know, notonthehighstreet.com have an event each year called Make, Do & Meet, where partners get the opportunity to get together and have a general talk and where guest speakers come in to do talks and workshops. There is also the Make Awards which give partners the opportunity to win any category from Entrepreneur of the year, to best product of the year.

Anyhooo (exciting bit... for me anyway), back in March, I was approached by the lovely Jessica from the NOTHS HQ, to see if i could make this years trophies!! To be asked be asked to create something for something so big, was truly amazing and a great honour! It was all a bit stressful as i had a extra tight time scale to create them because nobody knew the actual winners until a couple of days before the Make, Do & Meet event. but hey ho, i managed it and the response i got back from NOTHS HQ was fantastic.

I have always had an idea that i want to make a papercut for Holly and Sophie of NOTHS. Ive kind of had a rough idea what i wanted to do but i never actually got round to dong anything. but as i was asked to make the trophies for the awards, and because of the success i have gaimed because of them, i thought it was the perfect time to make it.

Well, here goes.....

You cant really tell but there is a bit of fine detail in it. This is the photo Holly tweeted me to thank me, and both of them gave me some great feedback and truly loved it :) woooo
At the Make, Do & Meet, I was also approached by both Holly and Sophie and had a lovely natter with them :)

Anyway... this is how my day started for the event:

3:30am - Out of bed and ready to leave (almost)
4:40am - Leave to catch the coach for 5:30
4:45am - Panic when i check my ticket and realise it actually departs at 5:05am (foot down) ahhhh
8:00am - Arrive at Covent Garden after a safe journey and 2 tubes later
8:02am - STARBUCKS! (thank goodness for coffee at this time)

9:00am - Doors open and the day begins :)

I wont give you an minute by minute break down of my day lol, but the day was fantastic, it was held at the royal opera house and the place was stunning.

This part was fab, Holly and Sophie gave an introduction and presentation, and gave us some scary but exciting figures for this Christmas! ("Christmas already?!" i hear you cry... yup) scary times!

This was one of the workshops where we listened to some of NOTHS's top sellers (and looked at the lovely chandeliers) :)

Even though i wasn't nominated for an award, i think i was one of the most nervous people in the room. i have no idea why! I was exciting though to see the trophies being handed out on stage.

Apologies for random photos. Also, apologies for grammar and all that, I am a terrible writer. But hey, they say dyslexics are the most creative! (I'm not gonna argue with that :p )

Overall, the day was fantastic! we were fed food and champaign, and received some lovely little gift bags.

Massive congratulations to the winners! here are some photos of the trophies. they seemed to have gone down well with the feedback i received via twitter :)

Anyway guys, thanks for reading this far. I could have written more but to be honest, I'd have bored you to death!!

Comments are always greatly received below! :)

Ciao

Sunday 19 May 2013

It's been a while

Well its been a long time since I've blogged about anything, but as things are starting to look up for CEF at the moment, i thought i should update you all. I was approached by (someone) in March to create something quite special. I cant yet reveal what it is but I was, and am, super excited and honoured to be asked to be part of something so amazing!

That said, and moving on ever so swiftly.... next week is the Make Do & Meet Awards at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden for NOTHS partners. Although I am not nominated, I really am looking forward to meeting fellow NOTHS'ers and getting involved with what ever the day has in store!

For those who receive the NOTHS gift guides, you will notice I was asked to be in this summers brochure which dropped on 470.000 doorsteps on Friday. This is the first time I have been involved with the brochure, and i must say, I'm EXITED! It features my best seller, which you can view here

Anyway, *sips tea*, that is all.... for now. at the end of the week, I am hoping to reveal the best bits, so watch this space!

Hope you are all enjoying the "sun" and taking life easy ;)
